Gemini will integrate with cars and will be able to analyze the external environment and answer user questions

One of the future evolutions of Gemini is related to the automotive sector. Google has indeed anticipated a new feature of its artificial intelligence that will be able to answer questions about the outside world of the car, using the car's camera. The project was showcased with a demo based on the Volvo EX60 with Google Built-in. This is a project that can potentially revolutionize the four-wheeled sector, thanks to a complete integration with artificial intelligence.

AI at the service of motorists?

Gemini will be able to respond to user requests and will not continuously monitor the surrounding environment (in order to limit privacy issues). The mechanism is simple. The car's camera will send data to Gemini, which will be able to "see" the outside world and respond to user questions.

The test highlights slower response times compared to those of Gemini Live on smartphones, but the AI has demonstrated remarkable capability regarding visual understanding, recognizing various local landmarks and providing accurate information.

With this demonstration, Google is trying to explore new ways to extend the capabilities of Gemini, and integration with the automotive sector could represent the natural evolution of AI, ready to become a reference for cars after having conquered smartphones.

For the moment, there is no detailed information on the release timing of this feature. Further details on this should arrive in the coming weeks. Certainly, Google will continue to work on this functionality with the aim of better understanding its potentials.
