The Galaxy S26 FE is coming but it won't have a 2nm chip: Samsung will use last year's SoC

Samsung is planning to launch the new Galaxy S26 FE. This model, which will enrich the S26 range, represents the new offering from the Korean company for the mid-to-high-end segment, filling the gap between the other S26 models and the new A57.

The smartphone has been spotted in a new benchmark that confirms some details about the project. The smartphone will not use the new Exynos 2600, which is utilized by the S26 and S26+, but will revert to a chip from last year. Here are the details.

How will the new Galaxy S26 FE be?

From the initial information, we can anticipate what the SoC of the new Samsung smartphone will be. The model should feature the Exynos 2500 chip at 3nm, without moving to the latest Exynos 2600, which is made at 2nm.

It is worth noting that the Galaxy S25 FE presented last year can count on the Exynos 2400, while the Exynos 2500 has been used in the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Among the specifications confirmed by the benchmark, there is also the presence of 8 GB of RAM (the transition to 12 GB of RAM is unlikely considering the ongoing memory crisis). The operating system at launch will be Android 17 with One UI customization.

The new Galaxy S26 FE could be among the novelties that Samsung will present at the upcoming edition of Galaxy Unpacked, a presentation event that should take place in July. Alternatively, the smartphone may debut in the following weeks, between August and September. Further updates on the smartphone should arrive soon.
