Windows 11 is Faster: Low Latency Profile and 201 Security Fixes Implemented

Microsoft has begun rolling out the June 2026 Patch Tuesday for Windows 11, an update that, in addition to the usual security fixes, introduces some of the features already seen in the optional May update. The package KB5094126, intended for Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2, brings the new Low Latency Profile along with several optimizations for the operating system.

The most interesting element concerns the behavior of the processor. With the Low Latency Profile, Windows can temporarily boost CPU performance for one to three seconds when launching applications and system components. According to Microsoft, this approach significantly reduces the opening times of the Start menu and programs like Outlook, enhancing the overall perception of responsiveness.

However, this feature will not be immediately available to everyone. As increasingly seen with new features introduced by Microsoft, the rollout will occur gradually, and installing the update does not automatically guarantee the activation of the CPU boost.

New Features in the June Patch Tuesday for Windows 11

Among the new features is also Shared Audio, which allows the simultaneous use of two Bluetooth devices as audio destinations. Essentially, a PC can stream the same audio feed to a pair of wireless headphones and a Bluetooth speaker at the same time. Once enabled on the device, the function is accessible from the quick settings in the taskbar.

Microsoft also introduces a Multi-App Camera mode, designed to allow multiple software applications to access the webcam simultaneously. The typical scenario is a video conferencing platform used alongside an artificial intelligence-based assistant.

The update also includes interventions on Task Manager, Windows search, the taskbar, File Explorer, and Windows Hello, alongside fixes for various reliability issues. During the initial system setup, it is also possible to choose the name of the user folder directly, a parameter that until now was automatically generated by Windows.

On the security front, the Patch Tuesday addresses 201 vulnerabilities. Among them is a particularly severe flaw in the Windows kernel associated with the management of certain TCP/IP network data. An attacker could have gained system privileges through manipulated network traffic without needing to access the target computer. However, Microsoft specifies that the vulnerability was not publicly known and that no active exploits had been observed.

The same update cycle also includes Windows 11 26H1, aimed primarily at Arm systems and identified by package KB5095051, which adds further improvements to BitLocker encryption. Updates are also available for Windows 10, with package KB5094127, which introduces security fixes and some refinements to the integrated search in File Explorer.
