Microsoft unveils a special Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition to honor the brand's history

Microsoft has chosen to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of Xbox with the launch of a special edition of its console and a dedicated controller. The announcement came during the Xbox Games Showcase, where the company presented the new Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, a model that pays homage to the brand's origins with a design inspired by the original Xbox.

The most distinctive element of the console is its transparent green color, a clear nod to the famous "OG Green" that characterized the visual identity of the platform in its early years. According to Microsoft, this aesthetic choice aims to remember the journey that the brand has taken and to celebrate the community of gamers that has accompanied Xbox since the beginning.

Even the details of the casing are designed to recall the past. Upon powering on the console, the "X" symbol lights up in green, evoking the iconic boot sequence of the original console. The front also features the 25th anniversary logo, accompanied by additional graphic elements that pay tribute to the history of the Xbox ecosystem.

The Xbox Series X25 debuts alongside a new controller

Alongside the console, the new Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition also debuts, developed following the same nostalgic philosophy. The controller adopts the transparent green and incorporates references to the early Xbox models, including the traditional colors of the ABXY buttons. Microsoft has also reinterpreted the black and white buttons found on the famous "Duke" controller, adding aesthetic references in the upper sections of the device.

On the back of the controller, the transparent casing and battery compartment allow you to see the classic Xbox logo, adding another nod to the brand's origins. The controller will be included with the celebratory console but will also be sold separately.

Microsoft has not yet announced the official prices of the two products. However, the company has confirmed that both the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition and the dedicated controller will be available starting in November.
