We Visited MSI's Headquarters! The Monitors of the FUTURE and Innovative Hardware

In addition to the Computex in Taipei, this year we managed to visit the headquarters of MSI, a historic Taiwanese company that certainly needs no introduction. The occasion was favorable to preview products that we will see on the market soon and in the coming months.

Monitors: QD-OLED across every range

The first topic we had the chance to address was monitors, particularly the panels that compose them. MSI is known for its gaming monitors, but the company has also expanded its reach into other equally important sectors.

The first monitor we saw up close was the MAG OLED 271QPX32. This 27-inch monitor adopts a QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel, made by Samsung, a solution with a 5-layer structure that increases luminous efficiency by up to 30%. Additionally, the RGB stripe sub-pixel arrangement drastically reduces the annoying problem of color fringing, offering crisp and clear text (Crystal Clear Text).

In this model, we find a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels combined with a refresh rate of 320 Hz, particularly high considering the typical needs of a gamer. We also have a DCI-P3 color space coverage of up to 99% and certifications such as ClearMR 15000 and VESA Certified Display HDR TrueBlack 500.

Increasing the resolution and diagonal size, we find a second component of the MAG family, the MAG OLED 321UPX18. This is a 32-inch screen with a 4K resolution. The maximum refresh rate drops a bit to 180 Hz, while the other qualitative characteristics remain unchanged. The panel is still a QD OLED Penta Tandem, and it has the same VESA certifications and the same DCI-P3 color space coverage of up to 99% as the previous model.

MSI's goal with these products is to progressively spread QD-OLED technology across various price ranges.

It’s not OLED, but the MAG 271KPD7 is a Dual Mode panel. What does this mean? In short, the native resolution can be changed to a lower one to increase the refresh rate: from a resolution of 5K with a refresh rate of 75 Hz, it can drop to 2K with a refresh rate of 300 Hz. This way, the gamer can play at a much higher refresh rate and more fps than is possible in 5K, resulting in a smoother and more satisfying experience.

Moving to a different type of monitor, the MEG X is the high-end screen that MSI proposes at Computex 2026. It is a special model because it is curved, has a 21:9 ratio, and is also based on the new QD-OLED panel with a resolution of 3440x1440 pixels. The maximum refresh rate reaches 360 Hz.

There’s more, though, beyond the technical specifications: this is the first "Agentic AI QD-OLED". Behind this term lies a series of advanced artificial intelligence features that MSI has integrated into the panel to enhance image quality, particularly for gaming. This includes AI Super Resolution, AI Gauge, AI Scene, AI Audio Scene, AI Crosshair, and AI Vision Plus.

Regarding the MPG series, the MPG OLED 322URDX36 is a somewhat unique 32-inch QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel because it has what’s known as Triple Mode, meaning it can operate not in two modes, but in three different resolution and refresh rate configurations: 4K/360 Hz, 2K/520 Hz, and 1080p/680 Hz.

To conclude our overview of monitors, an interesting aspect is the spread of OLED technology in panels not designed specifically for gaming, but in this case for personal productivity and also for office use. We are talking about the MSI PRO MAX series, specifically the model PRO MAX 271UPX12G. This is a panel with a 27-inch diagonal, with a 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, lower than that seen in gaming models but suitable for workstation use. The advantage is that it manages to offer an OLED panel at a more accessible cost compared to gaming models, also featuring a finer, cleaner design more suitable for office use.

In the PRO MAX range, there are also models with a white finish that particularly match Apple's Mac offerings. The PRO MAX 341QPX-W14G, for example, is a monitor with a 34-inch non-curved panel with a 21:9 ratio and a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels, all paired with a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

Cooling: the MEG Core Liquid E15 360

Aside from monitors, MSI announced at Computex 2026 the new AIO MEG CORE LIQUID E15 360 liquid cooler, a 360 mm solution with fans that rotate in an asymmetric manner. Among the other features, we have pre-curved tubes and a water block on which a control circuit and a screen attach magnetically and are customizable.

Another interesting feature is an integrated protection system by MSI in this cooler: if a fan stops working, the color of its LEDs turns red to signal a malfunction. Additionally, it increases the speed of the active fans to compensate. When the fan is back in operation, the LED returns to green and, most importantly, the speed gradually decreases.

Motherboards, coolers and power supplies

Regarding motherboards, the MPG range sees the arrival of the new B850 CARBON MAX. This is a solution for AMD CPUs that continues to offer a series of features that facilitate the easy installation and removal of M.2 SSDs and GPUs. CORE FROZR AP15 is an air cooler with six heat pipes that has particularly significant dimensions also because of its dual fan, one integrated and the other external. The top panel attaches magnetically and transmits signals to manage a monitor that displays various information, including processor functioning, workload, and temperature.

MPG AI1600TS PCIE5 is the latest addition to the MPG family in terms of power supplies, a 1600 Watt solution with 80 PLUS Titanium certification that implements GPU Safeguard technology. What is it? It’s a diagnostic system that allows for highlighting any malfunctions of the power supply in two ways: the first is a beep emitted if there’s a malfunction, while the second is a pop-up displayed directly on the PC desktop. If there’s no user intervention within a certain timeframe, the system then shuts down automatically for safety.

This power supply has the particularity of using a 135 mm diameter fan, slightly larger than standard, which causes it to have a longer length. All connectors can effectively manage the latest solutions on the market, including next-generation graphics cards.

Case: the screwless MPG VIXTA

Also in the MPG range, we find VIXTA, a new case in two models. One designed for maximum airflow, with a front grille, and another with a glass panel to enhance aesthetics and see the internal components. This case is specially designed so that all components detach without needing screws and screwdrivers.

Peripherals and the Strike Nexus

Completing our examination are the Forge GM340 mouse, Maestro 500 Wireless headphones, and especially Strike Alloy TMR, an aluminum keyboard accompanied by a truly unique accessory called Strike Nexus.

At first glance, it appears to be a screen that allows monitoring of hardware, controlling the lighting of our PC, accessing a series of shortcuts to open applications and play videos. There’s also a numeric keypad (besides the classic one) that, however, reveals its true nature: it allows you to unlock the encryption password of an SSD mounted inside it. Therefore, it is effectively an external storage device.

Handheld and gaming laptops

At MSI’s stand, we also saw the new Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld with an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor, an 8-inch diagonal screen (it’s not an OLED panel, but it’s touch), with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels and all those features that allow for great visibility even with external lighting, without excessively impacting the battery, as a product of this kind must primarily ensure high operational autonomy.

On the gaming laptop front, in the video you can see some proposals like the Stealth 16 AI+ with a thickness of 16.65 mm, a 90 Wh battery, and hardware specifications that include an Intel Core Ultra 9 386H accompanied by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU. This model features an OLED display of 2560x1600 pixels at 240 Hz.
