Acer Expands Swift Family with a New AI Convertible and a 1.25 kg Ultralight Laptop
Acer has expanded its range of ultra-thin laptops by introducing the Swift Air 14 and Swift Spin 14 AI, two new models based on the latest Intel platforms designed to leverage artificial intelligence capabilities directly on-device. Both systems run Windows 11 and include a dedicated NPU for executing AI workloads locally, complemented by software tools developed for productivity and creativity.
The new Swift Air 14 represents the most mobility-oriented proposal. The laptop uses Intel Core Series 3 processors and provides a platform capable of achieving up to 40 TOPS overall, with a NPU rated for performance up to 17 TOPS. Acer claims a maximum battery life of 19 hours during video playback and the ability to recover 50% of the charge in about 30 minutes thanks to fast charging.
From a construction standpoint, Swift Air 14 employs an all-aluminum chassis available in various colors and maintains a weight of just 1.25 kg with a thickness of 12.9 mm. The screen is a 14-inch WUXGA panel in a 16:10 format with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and full coverage of the sRGB color space. The multimedia features also include four DTS:X Ultra compatible speakers and a Full HD IR webcam with Windows Hello support, accompanied by AI-based audio and video enhancement systems like Acer PurifiedVoice and PurifiedView.
More oriented towards professional and creative users is the Swift Spin 14 AI - this time in Intel version; it was also recently announced on the Qualcomm platform. The laptop can be configured with up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor and achieves declared AI performance of up to 50 TOPS via NPU and up to 100 TOPS at the platform level.
The standout feature of the device is the 360-degree hinge that allows for use in notebook, presentation, viewing, or tablet modes. The MIL-STD-810H certified aluminum chassis is paired with a 14-inch IPS WUXGA display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and touch support. For users needing writing and drawing functionalities, support for the Acer Active Stylus pen with Wacom AES 2.0 technology and 4,096 levels of pressure is provided.
On the connectivity front, Swift Spin 14 AI integrates Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB Type-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 output. The platform also includes a 5-megapixel IR webcam with human presence detection, a fingerprint reader, and the Acer User Sensing system for privacy protection. Acer claims up to 26 hours of battery life during video playback thanks to the 71 Wh battery.
Both laptops include a dedicated Copilot button and the proprietary Acer AI tool suite, which includes AcerSense, Acer Intelligence Space, Acer QR Capture, Acer AI Image Generator, and Acer Video Speed Controller. In the case of Swift Spin 14 AI, the system also falls into Microsoft's Copilot+ PC category, benefiting from exclusive AI features provided for this platform.
Acer has confirmed that Swift Air 14 will be available in the Italian market starting from October 2026, at a price around €799 (they also aim to launch a pink version, visible in the photos). The company has not yet announced the official prices for the two models in our country.
