Not just smartphones, headphones, and watches: Nothing could also create smart glasses
Nothing has carved out an important space in the wearable sector, thanks to headphones like the recent HeadPhone (A), which you can read about in the review, and smartwatches with an excellent quality/price ratio. In the future, the company could take a step forward in its growth plan with the launch of a pair of smart glasses, aiming to capitalize on a market segment that is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. Here is the (little) information available at the moment regarding Nothing's plans.
The Nothing glasses are coming
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has hinted at Nothing's next moves. According to available information, Carl Pei's company intends to launch a new pair of smart glasses with Android XR in 2027. The glasses will have impressive technical specifications, including a microphone, speakers, and integrated cameras.
There will be an integration with artificial intelligence, a central element in Nothing's operations, with some functions being processed by the smartphone and/or the cloud. We can hypothesize that the new project will feature a refined and distinctive design, aiming to further strengthen the brand's identity and differentiate from the rest of the industry.
Also under evaluation is a possible collaboration with a glasses manufacturing company and the integration of an LED system on the frame that could recall the characteristic traits of Nothing's smartphones. Further updates on the new product will arrive in the coming weeks. As mentioned, the launch is expected in 2027, and therefore, development should have already reached an advanced stage.
