NVIDIA RTX Spark: which brands will be the first to bring new PCs to market?

NVIDIA is finally preparing to make its official entry into the laptop market with the new RTX Spark, systems dedicated to artificial intelligence, content creation, and gaming. Following the initial announcement, the company has confirmed that the first models have been finalized and will hit the market this autumn.

The first partners to launch the RTX Spark PCs will be ASUS and MSI. In a second phase, offers from Microsoft, HP, and Dell will follow, likely in close timing with the first two. As mentioned on other occasions, NVIDIA has reiterated that other OEMs are involved in formulating their proposals, including Acer and Gigabyte; however, it seems that the wait will be longer.

At the center of NVIDIA's proposal is of course the N1X chip, which combines Grace CPU cores with Blackwell GPU cores. The company has heavily invested in unified memory: the RTX Spark systems will be able to reach up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X, a capacity designed to handle large language models directly on-site.

The drivers released by NVIDIA for developers have already revealed two configurations of the N1X chip. The more powerful version integrates 6,144 GPU cores, while a reduced variant includes 5,120. The company is also working on an N1 RTX Spark chip aimed at the mainstream market, although complete specifications and performance have yet to be communicated.

NVIDIA has already distributed the first drivers for Windows on Arm aimed at developers. The goal is to lay the groundwork for the autumn launch, allowing developers to optimize existing applications and potentially create new ones natively for the RTX Spark platform.

The early availability of the drivers should also facilitate the integration of AI software, productivity tools, and creative applications, one of the key elements with which NVIDIA intends to differentiate its new PCs.
As could be easily deduced, RTX Spark will position itself in the high-end segment of the AI PC market. According to information that has emerged in recent weeks, prices are expected to start at around $2,500โ€“$3,000. Clearly, this pertains to the professional range targeted by the first models which, according to NVIDIA, will find space in an already crowded market due to the growing demand for local AI processing. It is reasonable to expect that mainstream variants will maintain a more contained price tag, although still high due to the cost of memory.

In any case, there are still several months until the release, a timeframe during which NVIDIA may apply further improvements to the platform. It is therefore likely that definitive data on performance and configurations will arrive just before the autumn launch.
