Microlino: From the Brink of Bankruptcy to a Unique Car Celebrating 5,000 Units Produced

In recent hours, Microlino celebrated a truly significant milestone following the challenges faced last year: 5,000 assembled vehicles at the AMFI (Automotive Micro Factory Italy) plant in La Loggia, just outside Turin. To commemorate this achievement, the company chose not a series model but a one-off handcrafted on commission from a European customer.

The celebratory specimen is distinguished by a body in the shade of Matt Bronze Cashmere, paired with a matte black roof and details. The project's goal was to transform the electric microcar into a unique piece, showcasing the craftsmanship present within the Piedmontese factory.

The most meticulous work is evident in the cockpit, where Microlino used genuine Italian Mastrotto leather, brown Alcantara, and entirely handmade stitching by Creazioni La Selleria. Seats, side panels, door panel, and headlining have been upholstered with a tailored finish that aims to enhance every detail.

Adding to the car's exclusivity are the owner's initials hand-stitched onto the seats, a hand-sewn cordura carpet, and a steering wheel covered in leather and Alcantara with bronze stitching and Bronze Cashmere details, coordinated with the cockpit's tones.

The Microlino number 5,000 is equipped with a 15 kWh battery, which guarantees up to 220 kilometers of range. This electric microcar is also equipped with air conditioning, a feature that completes the top-of-the-line configuration of this commemorative specimen.

Since the launch of the custom program, started a year ago, more than 200 unique Microlino vehicles have been created with colors and combinations directly chosen by customers. Thus, the AMFI plant is configured as a multi-model and multi-brand production hub for light electric mobility. It indeed has a flexible line and an internal atelier dedicated to customization.

Starting next year, the La Loggia site will also assemble the BE Neutral (Ben) microcars destined for fleets, with a production capacity that could reach 12,000 units annually.
