Waze Updates with New AI Features: Including Motorcycle Mode

Waze continues its renewal program, introducing several features aimed at improving the user experience and a growing focus on the Gemini artificial intelligence, following the trend seen in all Google apps.

New Features of Waze

The latest update introduces the Motorcycle Mode that, according to Google, aims to modify the app's usage experience to meet the specific needs of two-wheeled vehicles. This includes specific shortcuts for two-wheeled vehicles and notifications regarding obstacles and various dangers.

This usage mode of the app leverages artificial intelligence to evaluate the best solutions for motorcyclists. The AI's suggestions will nonetheless be based on real-time traffic data, map data, and the work of a group of human editors tasked with updating the database related to dangers and obstacles for motorcyclists.

Among the new features introduced for Waze, there is also an operational mode that reduces the number of voice notifications (what Google refers to as "Less Chatty"). Customization features are also being tested, offering suggestions based on previous trips (which can be disabled by the user).

The rollout of the new features globally is currently underway for both the Android and iOS versions of Waze. For now, Motorcycle Mode will be available exclusively in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, and the Philippines. Complete details about the update are available via the official blog.
