Remarkable Ubisoft: the old Assassin's Creed returns and breaks all records in 24 hours!

The return of Assassin's Creed Black Flag in the Resynced version has proven to be a huge commercial success right from launch day. Ubisoft announced that the title has sold 2 million copies in the first 24 hours, a result that exceeds expectations and confirms the strong interest from players towards one of the most beloved adventures of the series.

The company thanked the community through its official channels, emphasizing how this milestone was reached thanks to both longtime fans, who returned to take on the role of Edward Kenway, and new users who discovered the experience for the first time.

In addition to the sales results, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has set a new record on Steam, registering the highest number of concurrent players ever achieved by a chapter of the saga on Valve's platform. This figure surpasses that of more recent episodes, including Assassin's Creed Shadows, although comparisons must be contextualized considering the different publishing strategies employed by Ubisoft in recent years and varying market conditions.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Sold copies record a great commercial success The lower price compared to other recent chapters and the strong nostalgic appeal seem to have significantly contributed to the excellent reception of the remake. The head of the Assassin's Creed brand, Martin Schelling, stated that Black Flag has always held a special place in the heart of the community and that seeing millions of people return to sail with the Jackdaw represents the best reward possible for the development team.

Alongside the success of the new title, Ubisoft communicated another important milestone for the franchise: Assassin's Creed has surpassed 250 million copies sold worldwide. Since the debut of the first chapter in 2007, set during the Third Crusade, the series has experienced steady growth.

In 2019, the franchise had reached 140 million copies, while in 2022 it had exceeded 200 million. Today, the brand adds another 50 million units distributed in just over four years, despite a lower release frequency compared to the past. With over 250 million copies sold, Assassin's Creed reclaims a place among the most commercially successful video game franchises in history.
