Netflix, is the free trial returning for new users? Maybe, but with some differences
Netflix's free trial may be making a return. The streaming platform, which removed the option for new users to try the service a few years ago, is currently testing a return of the trial period for all plans. This initiative is ongoing only for selected users and is also active in Italy.
As confirmed by some rumors, Netflix's future plans include new price increases and a greater focus on advertising.
How the new free trial works
The new test aims to bring back the free trial as an option for first-time access to Netflix. From the information available at this moment, the platform is testing three different options for the free trial, with durations of 7, 14, or 30 days.
As mentioned, the Netflix trial is available for all listed plans. At the end of the trial period, the first charge is expected, but it is always possible to deactivate the automatic renewal, avoiding any payment, just as with regular subscriptions to the platform.
Currently, the method for selecting users to establish access to the trial period is not disclosed. In any case, the test represents a confirmation regarding a possible change in strategy for Netflix, aiming to attract new users by providing free access to the platform. The idea of a shorter trial period should not be underestimated and could represent the definitive solution for the company.
