xAI Officially Changes Name to SpaceXAI After Merger with SpaceX and Unveils New Branding

xAI Officially Changes Name to SpaceXAI After Merger with SpaceX

xAI has officially completed its identity change, becoming SpaceXAI, marking a new chapter after the merger with SpaceX that took place a few months ago. The announcement was made on the X platform, where the company also presented the new logo that will accompany the unified brand.

The transformation comes about five months after the integration between the AI company and the aerospace firm founded by Elon Musk. Back in May, the entrepreneur had already hinted that xAI would cease to operate as a separate entity, fully entering SpaceX's structure.

With the rebranding, the company's official profile on X now carries the new name SpaceXAI. A separate account dedicated exclusively to SpaceX's space activities remains active, through which updates on launches, rockets, and company projects continue to be shared.

Musk's Position on the Integration Between xAI and SpaceX

According to Musk, at the time of xAI's acquisition by SpaceX, the growing demand for energy needed to power AI cannot be met solely with terrestrial infrastructures. For this reason, the founder of both companies believes that establishing data centers in space represents the most logical solution to address future computational needs.

Indeed, SpaceXAI's goal is to develop large computing infrastructures in orbit. Even before the merger was made public, SpaceX had already submitted a request to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the launch of a million satellites intended for the construction of a system of space-based data centers. The new corporate structure also includes the X platform. Following xAI's acquisition of the social network in 2025, this service is now also under the SpaceXAI brand.

Meanwhile, SpaceX, alongside the operations of xAI and X, went public in June. At the close of trading, the share price reached $161, bringing the overall valuation of the company to approximately $2.1 trillion. Although the new name has not yet appeared in official documents, the company's website already displays the updated logo and the new name SpaceXAI.
