Leapmotor B03X: Orders Open in Italy, Priced Under €20,000 (Under Certain Conditions)
Leapmotor Italia has announced the official opening of orders for the new B03X, a Smart Urban Crossover developed specifically for international markets to consolidate the brand's presence in the European B-SUV segment. The vehicle features an overall length of 4,270 mm, a width of 1,810 mm, a height of 1,635 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,605 mm. The exterior style includes semi-retractable handles, a floating roof, and a front LED lighting signature called "Smile."
From a mechanical standpoint, the front-wheel architecture adopts a synchronous electric motor capable of delivering a maximum power of 197 hp (145 kW) and a torque of 200 Nm. The integration of the battery pack follows the Cell-to-Chassis CTC 2.0 Plus engineering scheme: the cells do not constitute an isolated module but integrate directly into the vehicle's chassis structure, increasing overall torsional rigidity, structural efficiency, and passive safety standards.
The range offers two battery pack configurations with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry:
- 39.8 kWh variant: Ensures a range of 292 km in the combined WLTP cycle, which increases to 416 km for strictly urban routes.
- 53 kWh variant: Guarantees an energy recharge sufficient for 382 km in the mixed WLTP cycle and up to 554 km in the urban cycle.
The onboard electrical system supports fast charging protocols with a current multiplication factor of 2.5C. The maximum absorbed power in direct current (DC) is 100 kW for the smaller battery and 133 kW for the 53 kWh version. The manufacturer's declared times indicate a transition from 30% to 80% capacity in 16 minutes, while the range from 10% to 80% takes about 21 minutes.
The interior adopts a "Smart Minimalist" design approach. The dashboard hosts an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel paired with a 14.6-inch central touch display dedicated to infotainment. The hardware management is entrusted to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC, on which the proprietary Leap OS 4.0 Plus operating system runs, natively compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mirroring protocols.
The interior space is configured with 33 storage compartments distributed throughout the cabin and a modular seating system called Magic Seats. The trunk capacity is 510 liters—this includes a lower compartment located under the floor called GigaBox, which offers 105 liters—and is extendable up to a maximum of 1,545 liters by folding down the rear row.
The active safety equipment includes a standard package of 21 driver assistance systems (ADAS) compliant with Level 2 of autonomous driving, which process environmental data through a network of 14 peripheral sensors and integrated cameras. The commercial offer in the Italian market is structured around two trims:
- Life: Includes automatic Full LED headlights, automatic climate control, 14.6-inch display, roof rails, and the entire ADAS package. It can be paired with either motorization.
- Design: Restricted to the 53 kWh battery, adds to the equipment 18-inch alloy wheels, front parking sensors, a camera system with 360-degree vision, and heated and electrically adjustable eco-leather upholstered seats.
Leapmotor B03X: Price List and Incentive Scheme at Launch The official list prices are structured as follows: the Life version with 39.8 kWh is offered at €24,900, the Life variant with 53 kWh at €27,400, while the high-end Design with 53 kWh is set at €29,400. At launch, Leapmotor has activated a promotional campaign for private customers that includes a fixed reduction of €2,000, which can be combined with an additional €2,000 in case of trade-in or scrapping of an old vehicle. An extra bonus of €1,000 is reserved for the first buyers, reducing the initial entry threshold of the range to €19,900. On the financial services front, the brand offers a purchase solution with a monthly fee starting from €129.
