Geely E2: The Best-Selling Electric Car in China is Coming to Europe
The Geely Auto group is preparing to enter the European market with its most successful electric city car, the Geely Galaxy Xingyuan, which will be marketed in the Old Continent under the name of Geely E2.
The announcement was confirmed by Geely Auto Europe, which described the model as a "compact two-volume electric car for your daily life," although no further official details were provided for the EU market.
The technical specifications, however, are largely known thanks to the Chinese version. The Xingyuan was the best-selling electric model in China in 2025 and maintained its lead between January and May 2026 with approximately 160,800 units delivered. In the domestic market, the price ranges approximately between 64,800 and 94,800 yuan (about $9,500-14,000), positioning it as one of the most accessible urban EVs in the segment.
The vehicle is already available in some international markets under different names: as EX2 and E2. It has been locally assembled in Belarus and also produced in Brazil at the Renault plant, signifying an increasingly global industrial strategy for the Chinese group.
From a technical standpoint, the Geely E2 is a compact hatchback measuring 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. The design features soft lines and a closed front typical of EVs, alongside slim lighting groups. The wheels are 16 inches.
The load capacity includes a boot of 375 liters and a small front trunk of 70 liters. The cabin is dominated by a central 14.6-inch display for infotainment.
The platform features a single electric motor of 85 kW (114 hp) on the rear axle, powered by a 39.4 kWh battery. The declared range in the WLTP cycle is about 317 km, while the 0-100 km/h acceleration occurs in 10.2 seconds.
For Europe, some specifications may be revised during the approval phase, while the debut in the British market is already expected by the end of August 2026, where the model will be marketed as EX2. However, the UK will follow a separate trajectory compared to the European Union.
