Galaxy S27 Ultra may have a battery over 5,000 mAh: Samsung is testing three options
Samsung is working on its next flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The smartphone is expected to feature a substantial innovation compared to its predecessors. The Korean company is testing a battery with increased capacity compared to the "usual" 5,000 mAh. The tested units are three, all supplied by Samsung SDI, and none of them would have silicon-carbon technology, with the company preferring to opt for a more familiar technology to minimize risks.
A New Battery for the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra
The options currently undergoing testing, according to a leak from recent hours, are three. The first, already hinted at by some rumors, involves the use of a 5,200 mAh battery, which would ensure minimal improvement in terms of battery life.
The other two options are much more interesting, with the possibility of moving to a 5,600 mAh battery or a 5,800 mAh battery, which could provide an upgrade of about 10% in battery life. At the moment, Samsung may not have yet made a definitive decision on its new flagship. Testing will continue in the coming weeks.
Let’s remember that Apple is also preparing a substantial upgrade of the battery capacity for its new iPhone 18 Pro Max. Consequently, Samsung, which already has to contend with the gap created with Android manufacturers (who currently offer batteries of around 7,000-8,000 mAh on their flagships), can no longer afford to fall behind and may have finally decided to upgrade the battery of its flagship.
