Samsung Increases Memory Prices Again: New Hikes in Q3 2026

The memory crisis continues, and as suggested by a new report, Samsung fully intends to exploit it to maximize profits. The Korean company, one of the leading memory producers in the world, will increase memory prices for the third quarter of 2026 compared to what was charged to customers in the second quarter. However, the percentage increase will be lower than in previous quarters. It is worth noting that, according to a recent analysis, Apple may have played a decisive role in 'creating' the crisis by forcing producers to sell with minimal margins and thus limiting their capacity to invest in enhancing production capabilities.

A New Price Hike

Samsung has increased the prices of LPDDR and DRAM memory by over 90% in the first quarter and then by 50-60% in the second. For the current quarter, the company anticipates another price hike. Samsung memory will indeed cost over 20% more during the third quarter of 2026, confirming a further deterioration (at least for the company’s clients and end consumers) of the crisis. The 'good' news is related to the fact that the percentage increase is decreasing from quarter to quarter. In the near future, therefore, this continuous growth could stop, and the market might reach a new equilibrium.

In the meantime, Samsung's memory division will continue to generate record profits while producers will have no choice but to raise the prices of final products, with these increases weighing on consumers.
