Apple believes: the foldable iPhone Ultra aims for 10 million sales, despite the price

Apple's plans for its debut in the foldable smartphone segment are becoming clearer. Despite a very high price, Apple aims to sell a considerable number of iPhone Ultras, trying to replicate the success of the iPhone 17 while avoiding a flop like the iPhone Air. Here are all the details.

10 million iPhone Ultras

A Nikkei Asia report has confirmed that the Cupertino company has raised its production target for the new iPhone Ultra and is now aiming to sell approximately 10 million units, a significant increase from the previously anticipated 7-8 million. In the meantime, the company has cut the production of the iPhone 17.

These are very ambitious numbers, especially considering the expected launch price of the foldable. Apple aims to sell its new iPhone Ultra at a price of approximately $2,500, with storage variants reaching up to about $3,000.

It's worth noting that Apple is expected to increase the prices of its iPhones due to a memory crisis, meaning that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max could also be particularly expensive, hitting the market with a significantly higher price tag compared to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.

All the details will be revealed in just over two months. The iPhone Ultra and other new additions to Apple's smartphone lineup will debut at the company's traditional September event, with sales starting in the following weeks.
