Bluetti Elite 300: We Tested the World's Most Compact 3 kWh Power Station

Record Heat Waves Across Italy and Europe

It has been days of record heat throughout Italy and Europe, bringing with it a real problem: the electrical grid is in crisis under peak consumption, with increasingly frequent sudden blackouts. It is in this context that we got our hands on the Bluetti Elite 300, a power station that, since its presentation at CES 2026, has amazed us with features that can truly be described as extraordinary. We share everything here and also in our dedicated video, where we suggest some "unique" use cases:

Starting Point: More Energy, Less Space

The Elite 300 was officially announced at CES 2026 as the direct evolution of the previous Elite 200 V2, with availability in Europe arriving on March 9, 2026. The leap forward compared to the previous generation is evident especially in capacity: it goes from 2 kWh to 3.014,4 Wh real, in a body measuring just 366 × 305 × 297.5 mm and weighing 26.3 kg. To give a concrete reference, these are typical dimensions of a 2 kWh power station: Bluetti has simply found a way to fit in an extra kWh, which changes everything in daily practice.

Design: Build Quality, Aesthetics, and Connections

The packaging is essential: protective polystyrene on all sides and an AC power cable. No frills, no unnecessary accessories. The front side is slightly deeper than the other faces, featuring a well-organized control panel. The top plastic finish may be less premium compared to other Bluetti products, but the structural solidity is undeniable. The two sturdy side handles facilitate transport despite the weight, making it possible for one person to move it.

On the bottom, there are real ventilation holes working in synergy with the rear fans, automatically activated when the load exceeds a certain threshold. Wireless charging for smartphones is not available. However, there is a grounding clamp for semi-permanent installations, a detail that is not always found in power stations of this range.

Power Lifting Technology: What It Truly Means

The Power Lifting mode that brings the peak to 4,800 W requires a precise explanation to avoid feeding incorrect expectations. This does not mean doubling the inverter's power: the continuous power remains 2,400 W. Power Lifting optimizes the management of high-draw resistive loads – like kettles, electric ovens, or motors with high starting power – by slightly reducing the output voltage and utilizing the structural margin of the inverter for brief temporary peaks. The practical result is that those appliances that require more power than the nominal rating at start-up can turn on without problems, even when exceeding the continuous threshold of 2,400 W.

LFP Chemistry and Battery Longevity

The cells used are of type LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate), certified for at least 6,000 charge/discharge cycles at 80% remaining capacity. This means that even using the Elite 300 every day of the year, the battery remains effective for over 16 years. This is no small detail: from a sustainability and long-term investment perspective, the choice of LFP chemistry is a concrete guarantee that also reflects on safety – LFP cells are inherently thermally more stable than traditional lithium-ion cells, with a virtually null risk of overheating or thermal runaway under normal use conditions. The declared operating temperatures range from -20°C to +40°C.

Charging: Flexible, Fast, and Combineable

One of the strengths of the Elite 300 is the variety and speed of charging options:

  • From AC grid (Turbo mode): up to 2,300 W input. The battery charges from 0 to 100% in just 1.6 hours, reaching 80% in about 78 minutes. The display shows real-time absorbed power and estimated remaining time.
  • Combined AC + solar: up to 2,400 W total, with 80% charge in about 1.3 hours.
  • Solar only (MPPT): up to 1,200 W, full charge in about 4.1 hours with appropriately sized panels.
  • Charger 2 (alternator + solar in car): up to 1,200 W, with charging up to 13 times faster than a normal 12 V car socket. Arrive at the campsite with the battery already full.
  • Pass-Through Charging: the power station can recharge itself and power connected devices simultaneously without interruptions.
  • In silent mode, the charging speed can be reduced to limit fan noise – useful, for example, during the night in a camper or tent.

Using It as Home Backup (With Proper Precautions)

One of the most interesting – and often underappreciated – uses is that of emergency backup for the home. Directly connecting the power station to the electrical panel via a simple cable is not a safe solution and should absolutely be avoided. The problem is serious: in the event of a blackout, the current produced by the Elite 300 could flow back into the external grid, endangering anyone working on the roadside.

The correct solution involves installing an ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch): a device that, upon detecting an absence of voltage from the meter, automatically isolates the system from the public grid and switches the power to the power station. This way, essential loads – refrigerator, freezer, lighting, PC, router – can be selectively powered in total safety. The smartest choice is not to power the whole panel but to create a dedicated circuit for just the priority loads: this saves energy and prolongs autonomy.

The switch-over time of the Elite 300 in UPS mode is only 10 milliseconds, practically imperceptible for any electronic device. Routers, NAS, aquarium filters, PCs: no one will notice the interruption.

Never connect a cable directly from the power station to a socket in the panel without an adequate isolation system. Always consult a qualified electrician for this type of installation.

Our Tests: From the Kitchen to the Garage, to the Electric Car

Air Fryer

With a real load of about 1,500 W measured directly on the display, the Elite 300 handled the air fryer without difficulty. With the battery at 50%, we performed about three 15-minute cycles at 180°C. At full charge, the fryer could run continuously for almost two consecutive hours before depleting the power station.

V2L Charging (Vehicle to Load)

We connected the Elite 300 to the V2L output of an electric car, drawing about 1,200 W from the vehicle's battery to recharge the power station. A very useful use case in the absence of grid electricity: if you have a vehicle with V2L, you can use the tens of kWh in the car's battery to keep the Elite 300 charged without touching the home grid.

Charging an Electric Car from the Power Station

The reverse process is equally possible and, in some cases, saves the day. By connecting a home charger to the AC socket of the Elite 300, we delivered about 2.2 kW to the charging car. With the total of 3 kWh of the Elite 300, you gain about 20 km of range – not a lot in absolute terms, but potentially enough to reach the nearest charging station in an emergency.

E-bike at the Campsite

With a portable solar panel input and the bike's charger connected to the output, we can create a completely autonomous and green energy ecosystem. The e-bike charger drew about 105 W, a manageable load even with a 200 W panel. The ideal scenario: energy coming from the sun goes directly to your bike for the next day’s excursions.

Charging from the Vehicle Alternator

With the Bluetti Charger 2 (sold separately), the Elite 300 can be recharged on the go using the car's alternator up to 1,200 W, combinable with solar panels on the roof of the camper to achieve further charging combinations. An especially interesting option for those living in or travelling long-term in a camper or van.

Schedule Outputs from the App

Through the Bluetti app, available for iOS and Android, you can set custom timers for both AC and DC outputs. Some practical examples: programming the heater to turn on before your return home, automatic management of pet feeders during vacations, or turning off non-essential devices at night. Remote control works via Wi-Fi from anywhere in the world, not just via Bluetooth nearby.

A Complete Electric Ecosystem

The real strength of the Bluetti Elite 300 lies not just in individual uses, but in its ability to function as a central node of an integrated energy ecosystem: incoming solar panels, an electric car exchanging energy in both directions via V2L, home backup via ATS, charging of electric vehicles of all types – from e-bikes to cars – and powering any USB, 12 V, or 230 V device. All this in a cube measuring 30 cm on each side that fits in the trunk, in the closet, or under the bed of the camper.

Price and Where to Buy

The Bluetti Elite 300 has a list price of €1,999, but Bluetti is offering an immediate discount of €500, bringing the price down to €1,499.

Considering the record capacity for its size, LFP chemistry with 6,000 guaranteed cycles, peak power of 4,800 W, turbo charging in under two hours, and versatility of use, it is one of the most interesting price/quality ratios currently available in this category.
