Apple Doesn't Want to Waste Time: The New MacBooks with Touch Display Will Have M5 Pro and Max Chips
One of the most interesting developments for the future of Apple's lineup is the MacBook with a touch display, which has been in development for some time and is getting closer to its official debut. The model in question will not wait for the arrival of the new M6 chips, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg. It's important to note that Apple has just increased the prices of its Mac range, with significant price hikes for several models currently on the market and, increasingly, the possibility that the next Macs will also cost much more.
The touch display MacBook will feature the M5 chips. According to available information, Apple plans to launch two versions of its notebook, one with a 14-inch display and another with a 16-inch display. The touch display MacBook is expected to adopt the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, without waiting for the arrival of the M6. Furthermore, a version with M7 chips is already in development, according to the source, which might keep the same design but offer a significant leap in performance and efficiency due to the chip upgrade.
The new MacBook model will have an OLED panel with Dynamic Island and is expected to present a novel feature, representing a substantial step forward compared to the current generation. As for the debut, Apple aims for a launch between late 2026 and early 2027, although, for now, there is no precise launch window yet. Due to the memory crisis, the price could be very high.
