The Memory Crisis Will Continue: Prices Rising Even in 2027

The memory crisis will continue for a long time. A further confirmation in this regard comes from a recent report by analysts at the financial firm Jefferies. The strong demand from the artificial intelligence sector will continue to drive prices higher. A first signal of decline is expected in 2028.

Price Increases Also in 2027

The growth of memory prices may not be over. During the third quarter of 2026, a growth of between 40% and 50% compared to the previous quarter is expected. For the fourth quarter, a 30-40% increase is forecast. For 2027, according to analysts' estimates, the year-over-year growth should be +40-45%. In recent days, other analysts have confirmed this trend.

A Decline Only in 2028

To record the first price drop for memories, it may be necessary to wait until 2028, a year in which a year-over-year decline of 15-20% is expected. This decrease could happen due to an increase in production capacity, which will allow for a new balance between supply and demand. Despite the growth of memory supply from Chinese manufacturers, analysts believe that the real impact of China on the memory sector will be very limited in 2026 and 2027. The first effects may only be felt in 2028. Therefore, for the next year and a half, the memory crisis should continue to be a decisive factor for the tech sector, with ongoing price increases linked to strong demand growth from companies active in the artificial intelligence sector.
