Naples as Italy's Capital of Quantum Computing? TeaTek and Classiq Collaborate to Strengthen the Neapolitan Ecosystem

One of the main centers for the development of quantum computing is located in Naples, supported by the Federico II University and local entities. Among these is TeaTek, which has recently signed a partnership agreement with Classiq to bring the latter's software to the center and support it with a multimillion-dollar investment.

TeaTek and Classiq collaborate for the quantum center in Naples

The center, located in the former Whirlpool area of Naples, is already equipped with a quantum computer developed by the University of Naples Federico II. This computer will see an upgrade to 128 qubits and will be integrated with Classiq's platform, which enables the development of programs for various quantum computers available on the market.

This integration will take place thanks to the collaboration with TeaTek, a Neapolitan company committed to developing renewable energy solutions and a supporter of the center's development project. The Classiq platform is expected to be available by the end of 2026, allowing access to Naples' quantum computer in a "quantum as a service" mode.

The ambition is to transform Naples into a reference point not only at the national level but also at the European level for the development of quantum technologies, thanks to the joint development of hardware, software, applied research, and commercial services.

Classiq, an Israeli company, has also received investments from CDP Venture Capital and the European Innovation Council and is expanding in Europe and Italy.

"This partnership represents a significant milestone not only for Classiq and TeaTek Group but for the entire journey aimed at transforming quantum computing into a tangible and accessible capability at the national and regional levels," said Nir Minerbi, co-founder and CEO of Classiq.

"TeaTek Group is building a strategic quantum hub in Naples for Italy and Europe, and Classiq is proud to provide the software platform, training programs, automation capabilities, and technological foundations necessary to make this vision operational and scalable," he added.

"This collaboration represents a transformative step for TeaTek Group, for Naples, and for the entire Italian quantum ecosystem," stated Felice Granisso, CEO of TeaTek Group.

"Naples has the talent, infrastructure, and ambition necessary to position itself at the center of the future European quantum landscape. The QaaS model we are developing will allow companies, financial institutions, pharmaceutical organizations, and research centers to easily access quantum capabilities without incurring the substantial investments required to establish proprietary infrastructures. Confirming the validity of this model, Classiq will redistribute computing hours to industrial operators, demonstrating that a scalable quantum supply chain is already taking shape. Q-Day should not be seen solely as a challenge for cybersecurity: it marks the beginning of a new era of technological and industrial progress. The Naples hub is our contribution to ensuring that Italy and Europe are ready to seize this opportunity."
