iPhone 17, Price Increases for the Entire Range This Summer: Memory Costs Too High
In recent days, Tim Cook has hinted at the necessity for Apple to raise prices due to the memory crisis. The company absorbed some of the price hikes in recent months with a particularly aggressive strategy aimed at increasing market share. The situation has become unsustainable. The price increase, already expected for the iPhone 18, could arrive this summer and could affect the entire iPhone 17 series. Here are the first details about it.
An Imminent Price Increase?
Confirmation has come from Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who emphasized that the price increase for iPhones "will not be an autumn thing," highlighting the arrival of price hikes already this summer for the iPhone 17 series models. The cost of memory continues to rise, and likely, Apple has either exhausted or is about to exhaust its stock of memory modules purchased at affordable prices.
Currently, it is important to note that there is no information regarding the impact that the price increases will have on iPhone prices, which could rise by a few dozen euros, depending on the model and memory capacity (Apple may also optimize the range by discontinuing certain memory capacities).
Let’s remember that the price increase is already planned for the iPhone 18, particularly for the Pro models set to debut in September. The 18 Pro with 256 GB could, in fact, cost as much as a 17 Pro Max with 512 GB, according to some estimates that have appeared online in recent days. We will know more in the coming weeks.
