HONOR Earbuds 4 Review: A New Benchmark for Quality-Price Ratio!

The search for the perfect balance in the true wireless earbud market is a journey many manufacturers undertake, often getting lost among unnecessary technical specifications or questionable designs. With the Honor Earbuds 4, we aimed to see if the brand has managed to overcome this stalemate by offering a product that goes beyond the technical sheet and truly integrates into the dynamics of an intense workday.

After integrating them into our daily routine for several days, we found that this device was designed for those who live on the go. Whether it's answering an urgent call in a crowd, isolating oneself in an open office, or enjoying a podcast during the commute, Honor Earbuds 4 aim to be reliable and technologically advanced travel companions.

Will it be so?

Design and Comfort

The sensation upon pulling the charging case out is that of reassuring solidity. Despite a minimalist approach, Honor has worked extensively on ergonomics. Wearing the earbuds for hours never caused that unpleasant pressure typical of many in-ear models. With a weight of just 5.3 grams per unit, the lightness is noticeable from the very first moment.

The case, which we battered by keeping it in our jeans pockets along with keys and in crowded bags, showed commendable resistance, maintaining its finishes intact. The IP54 certification is not just a printed label on the box: during light runs in the rain or after a gym session in the June heat, we noticed no functional issues, which adds an important level of peace of mind for those who practice sports or walk a lot.

Audio Quality

The technological heart of Honor Earbuds 4 lies in its dual-driver system: an 11 mm transducer for low frequencies and a 6 mm tweeter for finer details, both coated in titanium. The difference compared to standard polymer drivers is immediately perceptible. During the listening of dynamically rich tracks, we noticed a clarity of transients rarely found in this category. There is no annoying saturation in the bass that often hides the mid frequencies. On the contrary, the singer's voice always stands out, distinctly separated from the instruments. This configuration allows for a surprisingly wide soundstage. Even when we pushed to high volumes, we did not experience significant harmonic distortions, a sign of well-executed energy management and driver tuning.

ANC

Active noise cancellation (ANC) is always one of the most critical tests for in-ear headphones. Here, we are talking about a noise reduction capability of up to 50dB, therefore expectations were high. In our subway tests, the background noise from the tracks and conversations of commuters was drastically reduced. It is not a complete silence, which is physiological, but the reduction is sufficient to turn a chaotic environment into a quiet workspace. Using the app, we monitored the different noise control modes, where you can choose between the settings "Comfort," "Moderate," and the powerful "Ultra" mode. The flexibility is total, and the switch between ANC mode, "Off," and the "Aware Mode" allowed us to manage social interactions without having to take out the earbuds, a convenience we learned to greatly appreciate.

Battery Life

The battery is, without a doubt, one of the strong points. With a claimed autonomy of 9 hours on a single charge, we wanted to verify if the data were real. After a standard workday, with ANC active for about 60% of the time and moderate volume, we still had residual energy by the end of the evening. Adding the recharges from the case, reaching a total autonomy of 46 hours is absolutely feasible. The fast-charging system proved to be a real lifesaver: forgetting to charge them at night is no longer a drama, as ten minutes of quick charging offers three hours of listening, allowing one to reach the end of the day without anxieties.

Smart Features and App

Interaction with Honor Earbuds 4 occurs mainly through the HONOR AI Space app, which serves as the control center. Customization is deep: we were able to adjust the equalization between the profiles "Classic," "Full Bass," "Treble Optimizer," and "Voice Enhancer," always finding the profile best suited to the content we were listening to. One aspect that positively surprised us is the AI integration, especially for calls and translation. The noise reduction algorithm for calls does an excellent job of separating the voice from the wind, making conversations on the street clear. The translation function also proved to be smooth, confirming that the software support is on par with the hardware.

Finally, the touch management is extremely precise. We can customize the "shortcuts" to answer calls, manage music, or activate the voice assistant. The learning curve is quick, and after a few hours of use, gestures became second nature, eliminating the need to pull out the smartphone for every little operation.

Prices and Conclusions

The HONOR Earbuds 4 are available starting today, June 23, in two color variants: Black and White, and can be purchased for a retail price of 69.9 euros only on the official HONOR website.

In summary, Honor Earbuds 4 are a mature product. They do not seek to please with unnecessary features but focus on what truly matters: sound quality, effective acoustic isolation, and battery life that does not disappoint. The user experience is rewarding, supported by a well-designed application and a connection stability that has never made us miss more expensive solutions. If you are looking for earbuds that will faithfully accompany you throughout the day, balancing work and leisure without compromises, Honor Earbuds 4 undoubtedly deserve to be considered.
