iPhone 18 Might Have More RAM Than Its Predecessor to Fully Leverage AI

The new iPhone 18 could represent a significant upgrade for Apple users looking for a new smartphone at a price considerably lower than the Pro models. A new leak suggests an upgrade for RAM, which is great news considering the ongoing memory crisis. This upgrade would be necessary to fully support the new features of Apple Intelligence and the new version of Siri, according to a leak.

More RAM for the Next iPhone 18

The new iPhone 18 could feature 12 GB of RAM, an upgrade from the 8 GB found in the current iPhone 17. As mentioned earlier, this decision is closely tied to the need to utilize the more advanced artificial intelligence features and, in particular, Siri AI.

Apple might absorb the rising cost of RAM, accepting a reduction in margins without increasing the final price of the smartphone (or at most, only raising it slightly). This way, the smartphone could have a significant advantage over direct competitors, allowing Apple to grow further and increase its market share. Currently, there is no information regarding a possible increase in RAM for the Pro models in the lineup.

Let's remember that the debut of the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max is expected in September, while the iPhone 18 will only arrive on the market in the early months of 2027.
