The new OPPO Reno 16 are ready for their debut in Europe: reduced battery capacity compared to Chinese versions

OPPO is planning a new update for its range of smartphones in Europe. The Reno 16 series is indeed on its way, already presented in China last month. However, compared to the Chinese models, the 'European' Reno 16 series will feature some differences. This was confirmed by the first certification data that anticipates the battery capacity of the upcoming models.

The latest on the new Reno 16

According to the information available today, the new OPPO Reno 16 and 16 Pro will arrive on the European market with a 6,000 mAh battery (in China, on the other hand, they have 6,700 and 7,000 mAh, respectively). The reduction in battery capacity is almost normal for Chinese manufacturers when launching a new smartphone in Europe and is mainly related to regulatory issues. The new mid-range phones from OPPO will not be an exception.

As for the SoC, there are still no confirmations for the European versions, while in China the smartphones can utilize the Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500s, respectively. Regarding the Reno 16F (which may also come in an FS version with increased RAM and storage), the battery will be 6,500 mAh.

All smartphones will come with IP68 certification and will benefit from five years of security updates, arriving on the market with Android 16 and ColorOS 16. The debut could take place in the coming weeks. The arrival of the new European certification is a confirmation of an increasingly imminent launch.
