Google Gemini is Down: Hundreds of Reports for Errors 1076 and 1099. What’s Happening

There is a disruption that is preventing numerous users from regularly accessing Gemini, Google's AI chatbot. Reports began to accumulate around 12 PM in Italy, leading to a rapid increase in notifications on major outage monitoring services.

The issues are affecting users across multiple countries, not just Italy: hundreds of reports appeared on Downdetector within a few minutes, peaking at nearly 700 reports. Among the most recurring symptoms are the errors "1076" and "1099," displayed during the submission of new prompts or the initiation of conversations. Some users have reported encountering the problem both via browser and through the mobile application. In several cases, error messages also appeared on Workspace accounts, unrelated to usage limits.

Gemini Does Not Respond to Prompts: Silence from Google

Discussions quickly moved to social networks. Many users reported being unable to use advanced models like Gemini 3.1 Pro, while others noted messages indicating high service usage. There were also ironic comments and speculation regarding the possible causes of the disruption.

The company has not provided details on the causes or an estimate of the time needed for the complete restoration of functionalities.
