Amazon has brought to Italy the new generation of Kindle Scribe and the new Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, the first model in the family equipped with a color display. We attended the Italian launch event and had the opportunity to closely observe the new devices. In the coming weeks, we will publish a complete review of the top-of-the-line Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, which is set to become the benchmark of the new line.

The Kindle Scribe family has expanded with three variants: Kindle Scribe, Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, and Kindle Scribe without front light. Amazon has focused on an update that involved both hardware and software, with the declared aim of improving the writing and reading experience in a notification-free and distraction-free environment. We had already discussed it here during the official presentation, and from today they are available for purchase.

Lighter, faster, and with new AI features: here are the new Kindle Scribe models of 2026.

From a technical standpoint, the new Kindle Scribe features a chassis that is just 5.4 mm thick and weighs 400 grams. Amazon reported a 40% increase in writing speed and page-turning, achieved thanks to a new quad-core chip and the adoption of Oxide display technology. The anti-reflective 11-inch display maintains the typical approach of Kindle e-readers but has introduced a rougher surface aimed at replicating the feel of paper while writing.

The company has also doubled the number of LEDs to ensure more uniform lighting and has further reduced the parallax between the pen tip and the displayed stroke. The most significant novelty of the range is represented by Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, which has introduced proprietary Colorsoft technology associated with a new rendering engine. Amazon explained that it worked to achieve pleasing colors and a more natural writing experience, without sacrificing battery life, which remains measured in weeks.

On the software front, the new range has integrated a series of productivity-oriented tools. Among the novelties are a redesigned home screen with a Quick Notes function, synchronization with Google Drive, OneDrive, and OneNote, advanced notebook search supported by artificial intelligence, and the ability to generate summaries or in-depth questions from stored content.

For users of the device also in a creative context, Amazon has added 10 colors for the pen, 5 colors for the highlighter, and a new shading tool. All models include the Premium Pen, usable without configuration or charging.
