BYD beats Tesla Roadster to the punch: Denza Z spotted, launch in a few weeks

With a global launch scheduled for July, BYD has already built several units of the Denza Z, and sightings in China have begun. The image you see above was likely taken by someone working in the factories, as there have not been any public appearances yet.

However, the car will be showcased at the Goodwood Festival in July, and so at least the pre-production has surely begun. One could say that the luxury brand BYD has beaten Tesla to the punch, given that the definitive launch of the new Roadster has been postponed again.

And, at least on paper, the Denza Z has nothing to envy about Musk's sports car. The power exceeds 1,000 HP, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2 seconds, all thanks to three electric motors.

The car will be equipped with the Disus-M active suspension system, which allows for virtually perfect vehicle control, with active scanning of the road surface. It also includes God's Eye 5.0 assisted driving.

All of this for a price that could surprise, just as the Tesla Roadster's price seemed astonishing when announced years ago. The Denza Z is rumored to start in China from a range between $40,000 and $60,000, even though sales will actually begin first at a global level. In Europe, it could cost at least €125,000.
