Hanger 13 announces Man of Honor: narrative expansion for Mafia: The Old Country with new content
During the Summer Game Fest, 2K and Hanger 13 presented the first paid expansion content for Mafia: The Old Country. It's called Man of Honor - and it brings with it two new narrative chapters that delve deeper into the story of Enzo Favara, the protagonist of the main campaign.
The most notable aspect of the announcement concerns the return of a significant character in the series' mythology: Ennio Salieri, who is set to become the Don of the Salieri criminal family in the City of Lost Heaven. Those who played the original Mafia game from 2002 - or its Definitive Edition remake - are well aware of the central role this character plays in the story of Tommy Angelo. The expansion is set in a time prior to those events.
The story takes place in the Golden Valley, during the winter of 1905. Enzo Favara, now an established soldier of the Torrisi family, receives a delicate assignment from the Don: to assist Ennio Salieri, who has just come out of prison and is determined to reclaim what he believes is his. The player thus finds themselves moving in a context of precarious loyalties, pre-existing debts and choices laden with consequences for the protagonist's future. The narrative promises to push Enzo deeper into the Sicilian criminal fabric, with an escalation that is expected to be consistent with the dark tone of the base campaign.
On the content front, Man of Honor doesn’t limit itself to the narrative component. The expansion also enriches the Free Ride mode of Mafia: The Old Country with a series of dedicated additions: exclusive assignments commissioned by Salieri, high-difficulty challenges described as capable of testing even the most seasoned players, new collectibles, and brand-new locations to explore in the sandbox map. On the equipment front, the DLC introduces new weapons, vehicles, and charms, further expanding customization options.
Man of Honor will be available starting August 14, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The price is set at $10 for owners of the base game. Currently, no details have been provided regarding potential bundles or inclusions in the seasonal pass.
