Cooler Master Reveals GPU Shield, the New Technology Protecting the 12V-2x6 Connector of Graphics Cards

Cooler Master has announced at Computex the new MWE Gold V4 series, a family of fully modular power supplies intended for next-generation gaming and creator systems. The range comes to market in three wattage options: 1000 W, 850 W, and 750 W, all designed to support the latest platforms thanks to compatibility with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards.

One of the most interesting elements of the new series is the introduction of GPU Shield Intelligent Current Management, a proprietary technology awaiting patent for the smart management of power dedicated to graphics cards. The system detects any anomalies in electrical absorption, activates real-time protection mechanisms, and indicates the presence of issues through LED indicators.

The goal is clearly to ensure safer and more stable power for top-of-the-line graphics cards. The MWE Gold V4 series indeed integrates a native 12V-2x6 connector.

Cooler Master has also integrated a Digital Control IC that allows for more precise adjustment of the PFC and LLC circuits, benefitting energy efficiency compared to the previous generation. The power supplies boast the 80 Plus Gold certification and achieve over 90% efficiency in typical test loads at 115 V.

To enhance reliability and longevity, the new family uses a wave-type heatsink designed to promote internal airflow and optimize heat dissipation. The structure also includes a design focused on noise reduction and a protective coating intended to preserve internal components.

"The MWE Gold V4 series reflects how modern builders conceive power supply," stated Gustavo Chiu, co-CEO of Cooler Master. "Performance is still important, but so is quiet operation, protection, and compatibility with the latest hardware. With GPU Shield, we wanted to offer a power supply that not only powers cutting-edge systems but also responds more intelligently to the demands these systems impose on it."

The MWE Gold V4 series is born out of this philosophy, combining high performance, compatibility with the latest technologies, and, above all, tools dedicated to protecting increasingly expensive components like high-end GPUs.

Completing the package is a 10-year warranty, an element that underscores the company's confidence in the longevity and reliability of the new platform. However, Cooler Master has not yet communicated the availability or prices of the new power supplies.
