Biwin at Computex 2026: Origin Code DDR5 RAM with Liquid Cooling, PCIe 5.0 SSDs, and Solutions for Nintendo Switch 2 and Dashcams

The topic of memory is one of the most discussed at Computex 2026 in Taipei, in a market that has recently seen a significant surge in prices. Among the stars of the show is Biwin, a company that many may not know directly but has been an important OEM manufacturer for major global brands of desktop PCs, notebooks, and servers for years. At Computex, Biwin showcases its direct-branded solutions, covering an ecosystem that ranges from enthusiast memory to enterprise solutions and consumer accessories.

Origin Code: Selected DDR5 Memory Chips for Maximum Performance

The crown jewel of Biwin's showcase is the Origin Code range, a high-end brand born from a rigorous selection process of individual memory chips capable of tolerating higher clock frequencies and aggressive timing. These are CU-DIMM DDR5 modules designed for both Intel and AMD platforms, equipped with LED lighting on the PCB and available in kits with air cooling or, alternatively, liquid cooling with an integrated water block on top of the module.

The specifications are record-breaking: effective frequencies of 4,000 MHz are achieved with very low latencies (CAS Latency 42) on Intel configurations, while on the AMD platform the demonstration includes a Ryzen 9 9950X3D and an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Dark Hero motherboard. In this case, a 2x24 GB kit at DDR5-6200 CL28, a possible EXPO-ULL implementation, is present. With the liquid cooling system, the temperatures on the individual chips remain around 40°C despite the high frequencies. The 256 GB kits from this range are priced at about 2,500 euros, justified both by the selection of the chips and by the current prices of DRAM memories.

The Black Opal range, on the other hand, is aimed at gamers and desktop users looking for high performance at more accessible prices. The Black Opal D100 modules are DDR5 available with or without RGB lighting, in sizes of 16, 32, and 48 GB for two-module kits, with different latency and voltage profiles for Intel and AMD platforms. On the storage front, the Black Opal X570 series offers M.2 SSDs with PCIe Gen 5 interface and read and write speeds approaching the theoretical maximum of the interface, available with or without integrated heatsink. The high-end models are the DW100 U-DIMM modules, sold in kits of four modules with RGB, 192 GB total capacity, and effective frequency of 3,000 MHz for particularly high bandwidth.

On the mainstream storage front, the new Biwin M560 is an M.2 PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD in M.2 format with transfer speeds of up to 11,000 MB/s read and 10,000 MB/s write, designed for compact systems, notebooks, and embedded applications thanks to the particularly low power consumption of the controller and modules. Available in 1 TB and 2 TB sizes, it uses a DRAMless controller. Even more interesting for the portable device market is the BL130, a single-chip SSD with PCIe Gen 5 x2 interface specifically designed for handheld gaming: it offers capacities of 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB with speeds of 3.7 GB/s read and up to 3.4 GB/s write, and a remarkable 850,000 IOPS.

It's worth noting that despite PCIe 5.0 being available for some time, its market penetration remains limited: it’s estimated that by the end of 2026 it will represent about 10% of the total volume of SSDs sold, demonstrating how new interfaces take time to establish themselves in significant volumes.

Not only consumer: Biwin is also an important player in the industrial sector, and prominent at the fair is the SP50Y U.2 Gen 5 SSD, a solution aimed at servers and data centers. A distinctive aspect of this solution is the use of memory controllers and modules entirely developed in China, a strategic choice that gives the company greater control over the supply chain within a critical element in a geopolitical context where the supply of components can become problematic.

Completing the lineup is the Amber range, dedicated to consumer external storage solutions. Portable SSDs with shock-resistant chassis, modules that can be magnetically attached to the back of smartphones, and microSD ME300 cards capable of reaching transfer speeds of 900 MB/s, optimized for consoles, with a specific eye towards the Nintendo Switch 2. Also noteworthy are the USB-A adapters for dashcams, an accessory already widely used in Taiwan and progressively expanding in Europe, showing Biwin’s ability to respond to everyday usage needs well beyond the traditional PC scope.
