Leica Cine Compact 1 is the new compact projector with laser technology and easy setup
Leica is not only synonymous with photography but, more generally, with image quality. Over the past years, the German manufacturer has announced two projectors such as the Cine Play 1 and Cine 1, and now the catalog has also added the new Leica Cine Compact 1. This is a compact and versatile solution that uses laser technology and can be easily configured by anyone to achieve excellent image quality with little effort.
The project is the result of the Smart Projection division, with the Leica Cine Compact 1 presenting itself as a mini-compact projector that does not compromise the optical quality for which the German brand has become famous worldwide over the years. Here are the most important features and innovations of the new model.
Features of the Leica Cine Compact 1 Projector
The result is a device capable of projecting images up to a 4K resolution with a diagonal ranging from 60" to 220" and brightness reaching 1700 lumens, while the contrast reaches 1500:1. The color reproduction is also of high level, guaranteed by Triple RGB laser technology. The optical system integrates the Leica Summicron zoom lens with aspheric lenses and DLP 0.47" Pico DMD, complemented by the proprietary LIO (Leica Image Optimization) technology. The latency is below 20ms in gaming mode and below 60ms in all other modes, while the refresh rate is 60 Hz at 4K and up to 240 Hz at 2K.
This technology enables the maintenance of constant image quality regardless of projection size or usage context. Support for Dolby Vision is also included. The design of the new Leica Cine Compact 1 allows for 360° rotation, enabling projection on ceilings, walls, and any other surface.
Automatic functions include zoom, autofocus, keystone correction, and smart screen framing, allowing for automatic adjustment without any manual intervention. An optional floor stand is available that integrates with the design, and a threaded mount for tripod installation also allows for ceiling mounting.
The connectivity of this compact projector is managed by the VIDAA operating system with access to major streaming platforms such as Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime. It also features compatibility with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, Apple AirPlay, Apple HomeKit, HDMI, and USB. The audio supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS Virtual:X and, in addition to the built-in speakers, there is also the possibility to connect external speakers via Bluetooth or HDMI.
The design includes a solid aluminum casing in Bauhaus style, with an elegant glass front dissipating the generated heat correctly. The dimensions are 209 x 226 x 193 mm with a weight of 4.4 kg. According to the manufacturer, the light source should guarantee up to 25 thousand hours of projection.
The Leica Cine Compact 1 will be available starting from June 18, 2026 at a price of 1645 euros.
