AMD Has Something for Gamers: the Radeon RX 9070 GRE Finally Launches Globally
AMD has announced at Computex 2026 the global availability of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, a desktop graphics card designed to expand the RDNA 4 offering in the mid-range gaming segment. After its debut in China, the new solution joins the Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT to allow gaming at 1440p resolution without excessive spending.
The Radeon RX 9070 GRE is based on the RDNA 4 architecture, equipped with next-generation ray tracing accelerators alongside improved AI capabilities compared to previous generations.
The card will be available globally starting June 1, 2026, through the company's partners, with a suggested price of $549. AMD has equipped the Radeon RX 9070 GRE with 12 GB of video memory, a quantity aimed at meeting the needs of modern gaming both in terms of textures and handling ray tracing technologies.
The onboard GPU features 48 Compute Units, 48 Ray Accelerators, and 96 AI Accelerators. The maximum reference boost clock is rated at 2.79 GHz, while the total board power (TBP) is 220 Watts.
Like other RDNA 4 GPUs, the newcomer guarantees full support for the latest AMD FSR technologies. The company claims that the GPU is compatible with over 300 games that integrate the upscaling and frame generation features of the FidelityFX Super Resolution ecosystem, which is now considered strategic for increasing frame rates while maintaining high image quality.
AMD also states that the Radeon RX 9070 GRE is capable of delivering gaming experiences exceeding 100 FPS even with ray tracing active in various scenarios.
Along with the launch of the new GPU, AMD highlighted the extension of FSR 4.1 support to RDNA 3 (and RDNA 2) graphics cards announced in the preceding weeks. The Radeon RX 9070 GRE fits into a Computex particularly rich in announcements for AMD, which also unveiled the Ryzen 7 7700X3D and Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition processors.
