AMD Brings FSR to the Professional World: Radeon AI FSR PRO Debuts at Computex
AMD has announced at Computex 2026 new initiatives dedicated to the professional segment of GPUs, expanding the capabilities of the Radeon AI PRO R9000 range and introducing Radeon AI FSR PRO, a technology designed to bring the latest innovations related to upscaling and artificial intelligence within workstation applications.
The Radeon AI PRO R9000 represents AMD's proposal for professional workloads geared towards artificial intelligence and content creation. According to the company, the series has quickly established itself as a competitive solution for AI-first workflows while maintaining high performance in applications dedicated to rendering, multimedia production, and creative development.
Among the main new features announced is the arrival of an update to the AMD PRO drivers that will introduce certified support for over 50 professional applications on Windows and Linux platforms. The goal is to ensure greater stability, compatibility, and reliability in professional contexts, an element particularly important for design studios, creators, and enterprise environments. AMD has indicated among the validated software widely used in the creative industry tools like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Autodesk Maya. The official certification will be included in a future release of the AMD PRO professional drivers 26.Q2.
In addition to updates for the Radeon AI PRO R9000 family, AMD has also announced Radeon AI FSR PRO, a professional extension of the FidelityFX Super Resolution technologies developed for workstation applications. The solution introduces features such as Ray Regeneration and AI optimizations dedicated to professional workloads, aiming to improve visual quality and performance in workflows that utilize advanced rendering and ray tracing.
The integration of AI components within the Radeon professional ecosystem reflects an increasingly evident trend in the workstation sector, where neural acceleration, algorithm-assisted rendering, and advanced data management are assuming a growing role in both content production and technical and industrial applications.
The innovations presented by AMD are part of a broader strategy shown during Computex 2026, which has involved not only the professional market but also the consumer market. The company also announced the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, the return of the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition, and the global availability of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, confirming its intention to simultaneously strengthen the gaming, AI, and workstation segments.
