Leica Announces New Metal Gray Finish for Some Camera and Lens Models
Not just new models and technological solutions, Leica has decided to further expand its portfolio with the arrival of a new exterior finish. As announced by the German manufacturer, the gray coating called Metal Gray is designed to be a contemporary shade and particularly an "expression of pure sobriety and essential style." Users will obviously still be able to choose from Leica's most iconic colors, in addition to those from limited edition models.
Not all of the manufacturer's models will be available in the new Metal Gray color. Specifically, the catalog will include the Leica M11-P solutions, the APO-Summicron-M 1:2/50 ASPH. optic to complete the bundle with the camera body in the same color, Leica Q3, and finally Leica D-Lux 8.
The new paint finish has been developed internally by the manufacturer and will then be produced in volumes for various models. In addition to the solutions mentioned above, the company will produce a new range of accessories for the three cameras that can pair with the new color to have matching sets.
Since the end of May, the Leica M11-P with Metal Gray finish has been available for a price of 9,290 euros, the BP-SCL7 battery in the new color for 180 euros, a dark brown leather case with a recommended price of 300 euros, a strap for the M and Q models in dark brown leather priced at 135 euros, a dedicated protection for the M11 for 330 euros, and finally the Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH. in Metal Gray for a price of 8,950 euros.
From July 16, Leica Q3 with Metal Gray finish will also be available for 6,590 euros, a protective case for this camera in dark brown leather priced at 250 euros, Leica D-Lux 8 in Metal Gray for 1,750 euros, a case for D-Lux 8 in cognac leather priced at 185 euros, a wrist strap for D-Lux 8 in woven black leather for 95 euros, and a strap for D-Lux 8 in black woven leather priced at 125 euros.
