Acer Predator Atlas 8, a New Handheld with Intel Arc G3 Extreme
While waiting for Computex 2026,
Acer has announced the debut of the new Predator Atlas 8, a handheld created in collaboration with Intel and, therefore, aims to challenge AMD's dominance in the sector.
A Project Full of Potential
The new Acer Predator Atlas 8 features an 8-inch touch display with Full HD resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz (with VRR support). The panel has a 16:10 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The touch supports 10-point multitouch, allowing for responsive and intuitive interaction across the entire surface of the display.
The "heart" of the project is represented by the Intel Arc G3 and G3 Extreme processors, with Arc B370 or B390 GPUs, and the AeroBlade cooling system that offers up to 10% better performance compared to previous systems, thanks to a dual-fan configuration. It will feature ray tracing support and XeSS 3 upscaling.
The handheld will have an 80 Wh battery but there will also be a 60 Wh version, likely reserved for the variant with the G3 processor. The battery capacity, especially in the 80 Wh version, should be more than enough to ensure good battery life. The device is equipped with DTS:X Ultra audio, transmitted via two 2-watt speakers.
Acer's new model will run on Windows 11 and will include Predator Sense software. Among its specifications, there are two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a microSD slot, and support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The total weight is 810 grams (for the 80 Wh version).
Predator Atlas 8 will also arrive in Europe, but sales will only start in October 2026. For now, there is no specific information on RAM and SSD - it is generally mentioned as "up to" 24 GB of LPDDR5X and an SSD PCIe Gen 4 "up to" 1 TB - as well as on the launch price.
