A Gram of Gold as a Gift with the RTX 5090 Infinity: Gigabyte's Promotion in Taiwan

Gigabyte has launched a special promotional initiative in Taiwan dedicated to the new Aorus GeForce RTX 5090 Infinity. On the occasion of the company's 40th anniversary, customers who purchase the top-of-the-line graphics card will receive a gram of pure 999 gold as a gift, while supplies last.

The promotion is valid exclusively for the Taiwanese market and applies to orders placed between May 25 and June 7. To participate, users must register the product on the official Aorus Taiwan website within the specified timeframe and attach proof of purchase from an authorized retailer.

Gigabyte describes the reward simply as a "gold item," without specifying whether it is a commemorative coin or an item integrated into the packaging of the graphics card. Considering the current value of the precious metal, a gram of gold corresponds to about $130-140, a figure that is still marginal compared to the price of the GPU, offered in Taiwan at 165,000 New Taiwan Dollars, equivalent to about $5,250 at the current exchange rate.

This initiative accompanies the debut of the new Aorus RTX 5090 Infinity, a model recently presented by Gigabyte following its appearance at CES. The card is positioned in the enthusiast segment of the market and adopts 32 GB of GDDR7 memory with a 512-bit bus, along with a triple-slot design.

From a technical standpoint, one of the distinguishing features of the RTX 5090 Infinity is the Windforce Hyperburst cooling system, a solution that combines three fans, a direct contact vapor chamber, and superconductive heat pipes. Gigabyte also uses a Founders Edition-style PCB with a square layout, differentiating itself from the traditional implementations used by many NVIDIA partners. In terms of operating frequencies, Gigabyte reports a boost clock of 2,730 MHz, which is over 300 MHz higher than the 2,407 MHz of the NVIDIA reference model.

The Infinity family could also expand quickly. Some documents filed with the Eurasian Economic Commission show the registration of additional models, including RTX 5080 Infinity, RTX 5070 Ti Infinity, RTX 5070 Infinity, and RTX 5060 Infinity. Although Gigabyte has not officially announced these variants, the registrations suggest an intention to extend the new design to the entire GeForce RTX 5000 range.
