Lancia Gamma Unveiled: First Official Images and Specifications of the New Crossover Made in Melfi

Lancia has unveiled the first official images of the new Gamma, the fastback crossover that marks the return of the historic brand first introduced by the Turin company in 1976. Measuring 4.67 meters in length, the car will be produced in Melfi on the STLA Medium platform and will arrive with hybrid engines producing 145 HP and electric models up to 375 HP, with ranges reaching 740 km. Orders will open after the summer of 2026.

The new Gamma measures 4.67 m in length, 1.89 m in width, and 1.66 m in height, and is positioned in the D segment of mid-large crossovers. The fastback body combines coupe-like lines with the ground clearance and higher driving position typical of an SUV. Additionally, there is a horizontal LED strip that spans the entire hood, positioned above the actual grille, in compliance with the new Lancia design language. It also features a rear window equipped with small spoilers to improve aerodynamics, in a design that has been entirely developed in Italy, in Turin.

The engine offering includes a mild hybrid version producing 145 HP with a total range exceeding 1,000 km. The electric range, on the other hand, is divided into three levels: 230 HP with a range of over 540 km (74 kWh battery), 245 HP with a range of over 740 km (97 kWh battery), and 375 HP with all-wheel drive (AWD) and a range of up to 675 km.

The top version of 375 HP may be reserved for the future Gamma HF, the sporty variation of the model. No plug-in hybrid version is expected at launch.

Production and Price

The production of the new Lancia Gamma, according to the first announcements from Stellantis, is located at the Stellantis plant in Melfi in Basilicata, one of the group's most advanced sites. The first units are already engaged in road tests as the project enters the final development phase. The starting price is expected to be around €45,000, in line with the premium positioning of the brand. As for the opening of orders, it is expected after the summer season, with further technical and commercial details to be communicated in the coming months.
