Fable Will Arrive by 2026: Playground Games Unveils Its Plans

After the launch of Forza Horizon 6, which is achieving excellent results in recent weeks, Playground Games will focus on the debut of Fable, the first chapter of the new franchise series. The game, one of the most anticipated titles in the near future, is expected to be ready by 2026 and, in particular, should debut next fall, going head-to-head with GT6, expected to hit the market at the end of November.

Will Fable Arrive by the End of 2026?

Playground Games has confirmed, with a post on LinkedIn, the aim to launch Fable during 2026: "After the incredible launch of Forza Horizon 6 this week, the excitement in the studio is through the roof. But we are not done yet. With Fable coming by the end of the year, we continue to recruit talent in various disciplines to bring more exceptional skills into the team." This message is tied to a new recruitment campaign with which the game studio aims to increase its workforce. Meanwhile, the game has also been rated in Australia and South Korea (where it will be classified as a title for those over 18).

Considering the "official" information, there is currently no reason to doubt the feasibility of a Fable launch during 2026. The title will arrive on consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series S and X) and also on PC, where it will not have the "problem" of competition with GTA 6. We remember that the game was officially confirmed for the first time at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2020. At this point, we can expect an official announcement in the coming weeks.
