Kimera Automobili: the K-39 debuts at Villa d'Este, an original hypercar with a Koenigsegg V8 engine

The high-end automotive landscape welcomes a significant new entry from Kimera Automobili. The Piedmont-based factory, known until now for its appreciated modern reinterpretations of the historic rally cars from the Lancia team, has unveiled the K-39. This new model marks a departure from previous restomod works, configuring itself as a completely original project destined to compete in the segment of the most exclusive street hypercars.

The official presentation took place in the prestigious setting of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2026. The vehicle's exterior lines draw deep inspiration from the shapes of the prototypes that raced in the World Endurance Championship during the 1980s, showcasing a slender and low profile. Aerodynamic flow management has been meticulously cared for through the integration of an S-Duct system in the front section and a generous rear wing, elements that merge engineering needs with the brand's style.

The true revolution lies in the engine compartment, the result of a strategic synergy with Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg. The beating heart of the vehicle is a biturbo V8 engine capable of unleashing 1,000 horsepower and a maximum torque of 1,200 Nm, with a maximum RPM that reaches 8,250 revolutions per minute. The unit has been specifically calibrated to offer an optimal response to throttle commands and supports receiving telematics updates via the cloud.

Further details on the Kimera K-39 In the development of the chassis and lightweight structure, the Italian company Dallara was also involved, providing engineering support to ensure a pure and highly communicative driving experience. In addition to the standard configuration, the Piedmont manufacturer showcased the Pikes Peak variant, an edition equipped with an even more aggressive aerodynamic package specifically tuned for track effectiveness, while still meeting the necessary requirements for road circulation.

The production of the vehicle will be highly exclusive and limited in number. Even before the project was unveiled, over twenty units had already been reserved by private collectors, with the first ten buyers securing the right to receive the vehicle in a special configuration dedicated to hill climbs.

After its showcase on the shores of Lake Como, the K-39 will embark on an exhibition tour that will touch on the main global events dedicated to motor enthusiasts, such as the Goodwood festival, Monterey Car Week, and the historic tracks of Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans.
