VoLTE Coming for All Iliad Customers, Including Those with Low-Cost Plans
After the trials initiated in previous months, Iliad is enhancing its service with the extension of VoLTE to customers who have activated a plan for less than 9.99 euros per month. Reports have multiplied in recent hours, even though the operator has not yet provided an official communication regarding this, continuing to indicate support for VoLTE only for plans of at least 9.99 euros per month.
The news comes shortly after the publication of new AGCOM data confirming Iliad's growth in the mobile telephony segment, with market share increasingly close to that of historic operators.
VoLTE for All Iliad Customers?
With the ability to use VoLTE, it's possible to utilize 4G for calls and continue browsing while on a call, providing a significantly improved user experience compared to those who cannot use VoLTE. Considering the upcoming 3G switch-off, the ability to use 4G for voice traffic becomes even more important. Extending the service to all customers appears to be a natural evolution of Iliad's offering, which, however, continues to limit access to 5G for those with a plan of at least 9.99 euros per month.
VoLTE offers several advantages such as:
- improved call quality
- the ability to call and browse simultaneously
- faster connection times for calls
Please note that to use VoLTE, a compatible smartphone is required. Compatibility can be checked directly through the Iliad website.
