HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250: up to 64 TB of RAM to manage in-memory databases

HPE has made available the new HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250, a server designed to handle large in-memory databases. It stands out mainly for its generous amount of RAM, which can reach up to 64 TB. It is ideal for mission-critical applications and for running SAP Cloud ERP.

In-memory databases are no longer a problem with HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250

The new server from HPE is based on Intel Xeon 6 CPUs (it can mount up to a maximum of 16 thanks to the 4 available sockets) and comes equipped with as much as 48 TB of RAM, which can be expanded to 64 TB. Such a large amount of memory is essential for efficiently managing in-memory databases, which store data directly in the main memory rather than on hard drives or SSDs. This enables much faster data access and very low latency, providing advantages in specific applications, such as data analysis, financial trading, or AI agents.

Connectivity is based on traditional Ethernet ports, but it is possible to purchase an external controller capable of providing performance up to 100 times better in terms of latency: according to benchmarks provided by HPE, it goes from the 10,000 nanoseconds of Ethernet connections to just 100 nanoseconds.

"HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 raises the bar for business-critical infrastructures," said Krista Satterthwaite, Senior Vice President and General Manager of HPE Compute. "Designed for complex business applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, this system helps customers like no other competitive solution can, enabling them to execute faster transactions, gain real-time insights, and support data analysis without slowing business operations. Thanks to simpler operations, always-on reliability, and security from chip to cloud, we are redefining the concept of scalability for zero downtime workloads."

"Our collaboration with HPE continues to be a trailblazer for mission-critical in-memory computing," comments Kevork Kechichian, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Data Center Group. "The HPE Compute Scale-Up Server 3250, based on Intel Xeon 6 processors, combines exceptional compute density, scalability, and reliability to help companies manage their most critical and data-intensive workloads."
