Sony Aims to Turn Every Gamer into a Streamer with Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence in the world of video games could find a new application: Sony has, in fact, filed a patent that shows the possible functioning of a new AI system capable of automatically selecting the most interesting gaming session, extracting it from the rest of the video and transforming it into shareable content with other users or on social media.

A New Way to Use AI in Gaming?

The patent outlines a constant activity for the AI that will be able to monitor the user's gaming session in real-time. Leveraging a machine learning model, the artificial intelligence will be able to identify the most important moments of the session and turn them into content to share on social media. The system should be able to adapt to the user, highlighting certain actions based on the profile of the player. For example, the first achievement obtained in a game could be identified as a moment to remember by the AI. Thanks to the application of artificial intelligence, it might also be possible to obtain customized clips, with a montage of multiple gaming sessions.

This new feature could be one of the novelties coming to the PS6 ecosystem, where artificial intelligence will play a major role. At the moment, however, it is solely a patent, and Sony has not yet provided any details regarding it. We will know more soon, even though the debut of the PS6 could still be a long way off, mainly due to the memory crisis that threatens to derail the plans of the Japanese company.
