Chinese Display for the Samsung Galaxy S27? An Increasingly Likely Hypothesis
Samsung is trying everything to reduce production costs for its smartphones and counter the effects of the memory crisis, which has led to a substantial increase in the price of RAM and storage memories.
An example of this was noted in recent weeks: the Korean company has relied on a Chinese supplier (CSOT) to obtain some of the OLED panels intended for its Galaxy A57, to reduce the costs of mid-range components.
A similar choice could also be adopted for the Galaxy S27. In this case, BOE, a supplier of OLED panels also for Apple (sometimes with some difficulties), is reportedly ready. Here are the first details regarding this.
Chinese Display for the Galaxy S27
According to new information, Samsung may choose BOE as a secondary supplier of OLED panels for the Galaxy S27, set to be released next year. At the moment, the company has not yet made a final decision, but this hypothesis is on the table and may be under evaluation these days.
The situation is quite delicate. As highlighted in the report, Samsung is looking for new ways to reduce the cost of its smartphone components, and relying on BOE could represent the right solution.
However, such a choice would contribute to giving prestige to BOE, a direct competitor of Samsung Display and a company ready to become one of Apple’s main suppliers of OLED panels. Samsung's decisions regarding the supply of panels for the Galaxy S27 could therefore have a significant impact on the market.
