TIM Continues Revisions: Price Increases for Over 4 Million Users in the First Three Months of 2026
TIM continues its reconfiguration program for existing customers. In recent months, we have indeed seen several new price increase campaigns, both for fixed and mobile telephony. Considering just the first quarter of 2026, the number of users affected is surprising, with over 4 million lines subject to monthly fee increases.
This strategy has specific advantages in terms of revenue, but it plays into the hands of competitors who focus on forever-fixed pricing, such as Iliad, which seizes every opportunity to update its advertising campaigns, reminding users that their prices are fixed, unlike those of TIM and other providers.
TIM's Numbers
As clarified during the presentation of the company's financial results, over 4.2 million users were reconfigured in the first quarter of 2026, considering both fixed and mobile. Overall, TIM has reconfigured about 2.5 million fixed lines and approximately 1 million mobile lines for consumer customers.
For the business clientele, including SMEs and professionals with VAT numbers, the price increases affected around 300,000 fixed line users and 400,000 mobile phone users. This reconfiguration policy allows TIM to increase its ARPU (Average Revenue Per User), which grew by 5.4% for fixed services and 1% for mobile telephony. The churn rate following reconfiguration, however, remains "under control".
Thus, the operator will continue to adopt this strategy in the future, adjusting prices from time to time, with periodic reconfigurations for its customers, who will therefore have to contend with new waves of price increases in the future.
