Amazon announces the new Kindle Scribe 2026, including a color model: here are the prices in Italy

Amazon has unveiled the evolution of its digital paper line today, marking a turning point with the launch of Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. This is the first device in the Scribe family to integrate a custom color display technology, supported by a specific rendering engine designed to maintain the fluidity of writing typical of E-Ink panels, while also offering a color palette optimized to reduce eye strain.

The visual experience of Colorsoft relies on Oxide technology, managed by a new quad-core chip that not only handles digital pigments but also ensures battery life extended to several weeks, eliminating the usual distractions of traditional tablets such as notifications or software interruptions. The device is aimed at those who need to highlight texts or create sketches with good color fidelity, providing 10 pen colors, 5 for the highlighter, and a shading tool dedicated to creators.

Amazon announces the new generation Kindle Scribe models

In addition to the color model, Amazon has updated the new generation Kindle Scribe, available in both a front-light version and a basic variant. For this model, the company claims a 40% higher speed in both writing input and page refresh. These performances are encapsulated in an ultra-thin body of 5.4 mm, with a total weight of just 400 grams, features that make it one of the most portable 11-inch devices in its category.

The anti-glare screen measures 11 inches and benefits from a significant structural upgrade: the number of LEDs has been doubled to ensure more uniform backlighting across the entire surface. The tactile feeling has been enhanced through a rough surface that simulates the friction of printed paper, while parallax reduction ensures that the pen stroke appears exactly where the tip touches the display, eliminating the annoying visual disconnect typical of less advanced laminated screens.

On the software side, the new centralized workspace allows for organizing documents, books, and notebooks in one coherent environment. However, the real novelty lies in the AI-based tools integrated directly into the notebooks. Users can now perform semantic searches within their handwritten notes, request automatic summaries of meetings or long study sessions, and ask follow-up questions directly to the system to extract key concepts from their files.

The new Kindle Scribe devices support import and export via Google Drive and OneDrive, facilitating workflow between desktop and mobile device. There is also integration with OneNote, which allows users to convert handwritten notes into editable text or images ready to be inserted into digital documents. For quick idea capture, the new homepage includes the "Quick Notes" feature, which is instantly accessible for quick notes without having to manually create a new notebook.
