The MacBook Neo is not unbeatable, according to a report (commissioned by Microsoft)
The MacBook Neo is registering remarkable success and Apple is also surprised. In response, Microsoft is trying everything to remind users of the capabilities of Windows and the many options available on the market.
In addition to rumors about an upgraded version of the operating system, aimed at becoming more optimized and faster, Microsoft commissioned a survey from Signal65 to highlight the presence in the market of notebooks capable of beating the MacBook Neo, in the same market segment, considering performance and, above all, battery life.
In our latest Lab Insights report, commissioned by Microsoft, Signal65 found that @Windows 11 PCs starting $150 below the MacBook Neo delivered more performance AND up to 56% longer battery life in Procyon Office Productivity testing.

Four laptops compared to the MacBook Neo
The study compared four Windows laptops (Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x, HP OmniBook 5, Lenovo Yoga 7i, and HP OmniBook X Flip) with the MacBook Neo, highlighting the availability of more memory and better multi-thread performance up to 92%, with Cinebench. Regarding the processor, the HP OmniBook 5 features a Ryzen AI 7 350 while the Lenovo Yoga and HP OmniBook X Flip models come with an Intel Core Ultra 7 256v.
The main comparison, however, is with the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3x with Snapdragon X1-26-100, available at a price of just $449 compared to the $599 of the MacBook Neo. This notebook has a larger (but less bright) display and a battery capacity of 60 Wh (against the 36.5 Wh of the MacBook Neo). The combination of these factors allows for up to 56% greater battery life. The full report is available via the Signal65 website.
