EA Revives Historical Maps from Battlefield 3 and 4 in Battlefield 6

Battlefield Studios has announced the contents of Season 3 of Battlefield 6, available from May 12 on PC and consoles. The season will be divided into three phases and will introduce historical maps, new modes, time-limited events, and classic weapons from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, with additional updates planned until June 30.

The first phase coincides with the launch of the update Warlord: Supremacy. In this part, the Golmud Railway debuts, a reinterpretation of the famous Battlefield 4 map and described as the largest ever created for the new chapter. The scenario combines infantry combat and clashes with tanks, fighter jets, and helicopters. The map features devastated urban areas, hills suitable for armored vehicle duels, and a mobile railway that represents one of the strategic objectives to conquer.

With the same update, the REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale arrives, a competitive variant that introduces a seasonal leaderboard, permanent rewards, and a system designed to define the future evolution of the mode.

Additional Details on Upcoming Content for Battlefield 6

Among the initial content are also three legendary weapons that have appeared in Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4. These include the M16A4 assault rifle, the RPK-74M light machine gun, and the L115 sniper rifle, all obtainable for free through the Battle Pass.

On June 9, the Deflagration update will be released. The main new addition is the Cairo Bazaar, a reinterpretation of the Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3, set in an area rich with alleys and close-quarters confrontations, accompanied by an outer road useful for flanking opponents. During the same period, the Annihilation mode will make its debut.

This mode modernizes the formula of the M-COM mode from Battlefield 4: teams will have to recover a neutral bomb and use it to destroy the objectives of the opposing faction. Deflagration will also include the temporary event Explosive Charge, which will allow players to obtain the new PP-19 submachine gun and a new gadget for the Scout class. The final phase will begin on June 30 with High Priority Target: the update will add Tactical Annihilation to multiplayer, REDSEC Battle Royale: Amateur, and the event Dirty Work.
