The Success of the MacBook Neo Surprised Even Apple
The MacBook Neo is a success, and even Apple was surprised by the numerous requests that came in for the new entry-level model of the MacBook line that debuted in early March 2026. The confirmation came during the presentation of the company's financial results from Cupertino. It was Tim Cook himself who emphasized the surprising success of the MacBook Neo.
An Unexpected Success
The requests for the MacBook Neo are exceeding Apple's expectations, and the company has already planned an increase in production to meet the demand as soon as possible. Tim Cook confirmed that Apple underestimated the impact of the new Neo, and for this reason, the availability of the laptop is currently limited, also due to the scarce supply of the A18 Pro chip.
In some markets and for certain variants, delivery times of 2-3 weeks should be expected. Apple is working to resolve these delays and aims to ramp up shipments shortly.
Meanwhile, the company is already working on the next generation, which is expected to debut in 2027. The MacBook Neo 2 is likely to utilize the A19 Pro chip and, therefore, is expected to feature 12 GB of RAM.
Further details about the future of the Neo line will arrive in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the issues with the limited availability of the MacBook Neo are expected to be resolved.
It will be interesting to evaluate whether the Neo has become a competitor to the Air range, which has recently seen a significant price drop in Italy for the 13-inch version with M5, currently available online with discounts of over 200 euros.
